let's see, two weeks ago I turned 23, on the 29th (mildly depressing). but celebrated in palo alto with ferris, kim, and sid. chocolate cake and burgers for all of us. I, however, just did fried zucchini and ferris's fries. why no burger? I just had a burger at sears fine food (a yelp advertiser I might add) in the city when I went out with catherine and ferris the day before. did a little shopping too that day. I needed new shirts. The ones I bought were a good deal, but I decided to buy a size down, since I am proactively losing weight. They fit, but hug the fat. maybe in 10 pounds. what I need though are new jeans. always a struggle when one has monster calves -- no joke. today's slim styles fit the leg, but the waist is too big. or I end up going tight in both areas. I can't afford to get them tailored at this point.
and how did I do on my 68-day 20 pound weight loss challenge? I only lost 13 pounds. not bad but still a success. good old diet and exercise. now it's been over two weeks and I've lost an additional 5 pounds, bringing the total loss since the end of january to 18. I really am working on it and have found comfort in this new lifestyle: the 80-20. It goes by slowly, but I guess that's how one ensures it stays off.
what's holding me back now is this neck pain. I woke up last thursday with a stiff neck and stiff shoulders due to sleeping awkwardly. it went away for the most part, as I've regained some movement but now suffer from throbbing headaches and pounding shoulder pain that are almost unbearable. pinched nerve? sore muscle? I have been maxing out on 500mg tylenol these past few days. bad I know. especially since I rarely take ibuprofen. but I hope all is better by next week's trip. and since I can't really work out, I've been on a high protein, controlled carb and portion kick. so far not bad! and I have that excuse to vegetate...
had a mad men costume contest at work friday. here's a sneek peek off of someone's iphone, with a little color correction since it was a 3g. real pics to come later.
