weighing in.

or not. haven't weighed myself in about two and a half weeks. this is all in an effort to not do it on a daily basis. I am scared to get on. but I want to jump on and be surprised. and I mean in a good way! exercise is going ok. not pumping up my endurance as much as I'd like. and eating is going "just ok." probably no loss since my portion control is not so great. not to mention, I eat whatever I want. I to probably start counting again. craving the house noodles from mingalaba. or as elita refers to them as "asian chicken alfredo."

first thing tomorrow.

adventures at elephant bar.

definitely one of my favorite go to places on the peninsula. just the whole vibe and location by the water in burlingame. it's a getaway. the bar and happy hour are pretty awesome too. did dinner earlier this week with ferris and juile -- semi-healthy. (no, I didn't order a burger). but what I didn't care for was the hostess, christina. we asked to switch tables after being seated next to a private party, where guests were spilling out of the room and loitering next to the table. clearly not the best seat in the house. her whole demeanor read "i hate my job and you all are an inconvenience to an already bad day." no smile, nothing. sorry, but that's not cool; fired. comment card submitted.

he who annoys me.

This guy is at the gym again. Decked out in gold jewelry: watch, chain and earrings. Matching gold sigg water bottle. Plus he's wearing a leather cell phone holster while "running" backwards on the treadmill all of ten minutes before moving on. Who is this kid dressing for?! Let alone trying to impress. And no surprise that everything matches -- red Nike shirt and red Nike shoes. Did I mention his hair is styled in a circa '09 faux hawk? It's past 10pm. Lay off the basmati rice and work on your gut fool.

In other news, the stairmaster is the devil.

productive day.

I went to trader joe's to stock up on all the frozen foods I had been missing. They do have some of my favorites. And most of the mexican choices are very satisfying. I swear that I got quite a few looks in the store with the cart I filled 90% with frozen food. the other 10% consisted of wine and cheese. I really should be buying more produce, but it ends up sitting in the fridge and it goes bad even before I get the chance to use it! Thus, buying fresh can be, at times, impractical. No regrets.

And now I just got back from the gym. The highlight was watching a fat kid flirt with a ghetto chick. He was walking on the treadmill facing backwards, and his whole demeanor read: "I am cool. If you want to be fit like me, you better do it like this." Everyone around was thinking the same thing. It was a joke. The most pathetic part was watching him fish for forced complements on his physique from what appeared to be an old friend. I was upset when he was loitering by the machine I needed to use.

But all in all, it's good to get back into the gym. Just ordered some new shoes too, which always gets me pumped. What I need now though is new workout clothes.
I better be able to run faster with these. today marks the official start to my health endurance kick. an effort to really tone up. shooting for 15 in 60. let's see how this pans out...

tv continues, studying not so much. got to hit those books asap.

what I ate.

Took a page from Giada's book: grilled tomato skewers seasoned with garlic herb oil, salt and pepper.
I forgot to take pictures of the grilled zucchinis, sautéed mushrooms and sausage, and chicken with tzatziki. That's what happens when you can't wait and just dig in.

Overall, a delicious last week. A good 4th of July at Julie's. And good weather too. Vegan enchiladas in the Mission with Catherine.
Boring life in the bay fueling my desire to move to NYC. Actually browsing for possible job prospects. Want. To. Move. ASAP.

Feeling gross.
I need to get active -- both physically and socially. Got to jump on the treadmill for 300 hours. and on that note, getting ready to watch platinum hit, the big c, and weeds. can't wait for dinner.
