now you're in new york.

seriously in an empire state of mind...

food first, sights second. there's nothing like taking a gastronomical tour though the city that never sleeps. let me tell you now; I actually managed to somehow hit up all the eateries I wanted to, while in NYC. micromanaging skills I suppose.

itinerary

who: ferris, myself, yanik, elita, may, and jordan
did I mention that we were also looking pretty bitchin'? dressed in layers for the super cold weather...

wednesday.
the digs in the east village
 bagels
onion bagel: cream cheese + veggies
garlic bagel: cream cheese + cucumbers + bacon
 washington square park by nyu

yes, shake shack's "shack stack". literally, I was physically attacked by a squirrel, but it was worth it.
late show taping post lunch. ryan reynolds, ellie kemper, and dierks bentley
chinatown's xi'an famous foods. SPICY noodles. SPICY. but delicious. so fresh.
 lamb burger with cumin

hung out in the east village, followed by
late night chicken and rice at 53rd and 6th. THE best chicken and rice in nyc.
got to have it with the creamy white sauce and their signature hot sauce.

thursday.
gotham bar and grill
we casually joked about being out of place in such a "fancy" place (as you can imagine when we split the bill 5 ways). the waiter did not take kindly to our jokes, unfortunately. just taking advantage of nyc's restaurant week...

celery soup
arugula salad with white asparagus
hake
short rib
carrot cake
flourless chocolate cake
getting hungry while shopping, stopped to get french fries at balthazar. deemed the best fries in nyc.
 and mini cupcakes in soho
one if by land, two if by sea
elita's birthday dinner. one of the most romantic settings in nyc. too bad the man at the table over could not be anymore obnoxious.
I love how funny that these two look like a gay couple, as ferris pointed out.
amuse bouche
venison and chestnut tagliatelle
hake (ouzo foam and a sous vide egg)
mushroom risotto
beef wellington (filet and foie gras)
lemon tart
 dulce de leche cake
maple ice cream with bacon infused chocolate sauce
east village start, but heading out to the meat packing district. brass monkey was the goal.

artichoke pizza to end the night. RICH stuff. I got 2 slices.

friday, saturday, and sunday to follow.
