exactly that. "Argyle, Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, 2007, Oregon" to be exact. at 15 dollars a glass, it was quite a treat.
I was just LSAT studying at our usual place, the marriott in burlingame, with ferris. and we just were minding our own business.
then ferris spots a blackberry bold 9000 on the floor by the chair in front of me. at first he thought it was mine. and then we realized that someone had dropped it, as it didn't belong to either of us. it was sooo nice. and new! I have to be honest; I was ready to just take it and run (my current blackberry is so beaten up!). we even toyed with the idea of who it belonged to more. I was thinking 70% ferris and 30% me. but ferris was being the rational one and pushed me to do the right thing. eventually we did. but since it was locked, I could not make any outgoing calls. I then tried to switch sim cards with my own, thinking that that would allow me to open up the phone , but I had no success. I switched back the sim cards, and then the owner finally called. I picked up and planned to meet with him in the lobby. it turns out that he's the director of marketing for airbus! his name escapes me. they service virgin america and sell planes to them, whose headquarters are in burlingame. when he came down, he was so grateful, that he offered to buy us wine. I looked at the menu and was rather lost. since I'm not much of a wine drinker, I asked what he likes.
he then suggested the pinot noir, which got him drunk, and hence why he lost his phone in the first place. it also happened to be the most expensive. then when he came back I was awkward. he was awkward. and there wasn't much of a conversation. ferris was attempting to make one happen but still it didn't work out. and he left. but the wine was quite delicious and light bodied.
come to think of it, we really should've pursued him for a job! I'll have to bring my resume with me whenever we go there. especailly becasue you never know who you'll run into! come to think of it, this lobby/bar/lounge is such a big hub for successful people, it would not be a bad place to meet someone or pick someone up. there are definitely a lot of people that flirt amongst each other there. old people though. but some youngins too. love it there.
I'm glad I did the right thing. I do believe in karma after all.
HAHA
